Video Production

HackEd is an immersive three-day hackathon delivered by Tech Educators, bringing together students, mentors and industry professionals to collaborate, solve real-world challenges and explore careers in technology.

For the people who attended, the experience spoke for itself.

The challenge was communicating that same excitement, collaboration and sense of possibility to everyone who wasn't there.

Tech Educators wanted more than a record of the event. They needed content that could showcase the atmosphere, demonstrate its impact and encourage future students, partners and sponsors to become part of the next HackEd.

Challenge

Bringing The Event To Life

HackEd unfolds across multiple locations over three busy days. From coding sessions and mentoring to workshops, demonstrations and final presentations, there was always something happening.

The challenge wasn't simply documenting the event—it was capturing the moments that defined it.

The finished content needed to feel authentic, energetic and immersive while remaining professional enough to support future marketing, sponsorship opportunities and wider promotion.

Alongside the event coverage, interviews with organisers, mentors and students would help tell the story behind HackEd and communicate why the experience matters.

Solution

Designed To Capture More Than Footage

Filming took place across all three days of the event, following the HackEd journey as it naturally unfolded.

Rather than focusing solely on presentations or staged moments, the production centred on the interactions that make HackEd unique—students solving problems together, mentors sharing knowledge, ideas taking shape and teams celebrating their achievements.

A series of interviews added depth and context, allowing organisers, mentors and participants to explain the purpose of the event in their own words and giving the final production a more personal perspective.

The footage was edited into a dynamic highlight film that balanced pace, atmosphere and storytelling, supported by additional video assets created for social media, future event promotion and sponsor engagement.

Every decision throughout the production focused on the same objective—helping people who weren't there understand what makes HackEd such a valuable experience.

Outcome

Produced To Inspire Future Events

The finished content gives Tech Educators a lasting showcase of HackEd that continues to support the event long after the final presentations have finished.

The films help communicate the energy, creativity and collaborative spirit of the hackathon while providing valuable content for future marketing, sponsorship opportunities and participant recruitment.

Rather than simply documenting what happened, the project created a collection of assets that continue to promote the event, strengthen its reputation and inspire more people to become part of future HackEd experiences.
